Botox
Precise application relaxes selected muscles and softens expression lines while preserving facial expressions.
Botox (botulinum toxin) is an established aesthetic treatment that precisely relaxes selected facial muscles and thereby softens expression lines. The purpose is a natural, fresh appearance without exaggeration and with preserved facial expressions where sensible.
It is most commonly used in the upper third of the face: glabella (lines between eyebrows), forehead and lines around eyes. The effect develops gradually over several days, and results typically last several months.
What is Botox and how does it work
Botox is purified botulinum toxin used in aesthetic medicine in very small, precisely measured amounts. It temporarily reduces signal transmission to selected muscles, so the muscle contracts less and the skin above it wrinkles less. Expression lines soften and the face appears more rested and fresh.
When is Botox the right choice
It is most effective for expression lines that form due to facial expressions (e.g., frowning, raising eyebrows, smiling). For static wrinkles visible even without expressions, a combined approach with skin care, biostimulation or other aesthetic techniques often makes sense. At consultation we choose the most sensible path based on your goals.
Most common application regions
- Glabella: lines between eyebrows (so-called anger line).
- Forehead: horizontal lines.
- Eye area: smile lines.
- Other regions by assessment, where the effect is sensible and safe.
How the treatment proceeds
Treatment is brief and typically lasts about 10 to 20 minutes. After assessing facial expressions, we disinfect the skin and apply precise microdoses with a very thin needle at specific points. For more sensitive patients we can use cooling or local anesthetic cream.
When will I see the effect and how long does it last
The effect usually begins to show in 2 to 5 days, with full results typically visible in 7 to 14 days. Duration is individual, often about 3 to 5 months. With regular, properly planned repetitions, the effect can stabilize and wrinkles become less pronounced over time.
What to expect after the procedure
After application, mild redness or tiny bumps at injection sites are possible, which usually resolve quickly. Bruises appear less frequently. For best results we recommend:
- Do not massage treated areas for the first 4 hours and avoid pressure on skin.
- Avoid intense exercise, sauna and very hot baths on the day of procedure.
- Avoid facial treatments for the first 24 hours (e.g., massages, aggressive peels).
- Follow-up examination or touch-up by agreement, usually after 10 to 14 days.
Safety, limitations and possible side effects
With professional application, Botox is usually safe. As with any injection, temporary side effects are possible, such as sensitivity, redness, swelling or bruising at injection sites. Less commonly, asymmetry, feeling of heaviness in forehead area or temporary drooping of eyelid or eyebrow may occur. Precise selection of dosages and anatomical points is key for natural results.
When treatment is not appropriate
Treatment is usually not performed during pregnancy and breastfeeding, with active infections or inflammation at application site, and with certain neuromuscular diseases. Before the procedure, it is important to mention medications and previous reactions to similar treatments so we can safely plan the procedure.

Book a ConsultationFrequently Asked Questions
Will my face look frozen?
The goal is a natural effect. We adapt the dosage and points to your facial expressions so lines soften but the face remains lively.
When will I see results?
First changes are often noticeable in 2 to 5 days, with full results in 7 to 14 days.
How long does Botox last?
Most commonly about 3 to 5 months, depending on facial expressions, metabolism and region.
Is the procedure painful?
Most patients describe it as mild pinpricks. We use very thin needles, with cooling or anesthetic cream if needed.
Can I go to work immediately?
Usually yes. Mild redness or tiny bumps are possible, which typically resolve quickly; occasionally a small bruise may appear.
What should I consider after the procedure?
Do not massage treated areas for at least 4 hours, avoid intense exercise and sauna on the day of procedure, and avoid facial treatments for 24 hours.
Does Botox also help with static wrinkles?
The effect is greatest on expression lines. For deeper static wrinkles, a combined approach sometimes makes sense, which we determine at consultation.
How often do I repeat treatment?
When the effect wears off. For many this is about 3 to 5 months, but the interval is individual.
Can Botox be combined with other treatments?
Yes. We often combine it with skin care, biostimulation or other aesthetic procedures; proper time intervals are important.
Who is not a suitable candidate?
Treatment is usually not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active infections or inflammation, and with certain neuromuscular diseases.
